This film adaptation of a play by a high school drama club, directed by Yamashita Nobuhiro known for "Linda Linda Linda" (2006), is essentially a coming-of-age story created by and about teenagers. Set during summer vacation at a high school, it follows female students tasked with cleaning the outdoor swimming pool, which is filled with sand from a nearby baseball field. Chizuru, once an unbeatable swimmer, practices imaginary swimming in the sand, while Kokoro focuses on her makeup. Miku diligently practices dance moves typically performed by men, and Yui, former swim club captain, joins them. Under the summer sun, they meet, converse, and face unexpected conflicts and resolutions, revealing their sensibilities, desires, dreams, hopes, anger, and frustration over the course of a single day.
